This is a Type 5 Officer's Uniform. In this picture, it is without all the field gear. This is what would be expected for a Formal occasion.

Where are you guys getting the Japanese kit, just out of interest?

Well we get them from a number of sources, one is a store I actually traveled to in Japan. Another one is an online store, but they mostly deal with EM stuff. It really depends what you are after. :)

Shoot me a message some time, would love to talk with you. :)

I'm not actually looking for any Japanese gear but I think it's a really cool impression. I'm currently trying to put together a Marine aviator impression for WWII, which is way harder than I thought it would be as nobody is reproducing flight suits for anything but late war AAF. Very irritating. Just putting it together for the fun of it, anyway, being that I'm female which kinda prevents me from doing the impression at most events.

If you have Facebook, add me (use my journal) I have a LOT of friends that knows where to get the aviator items. Also, as far as I can tell, I have not yet found a reenactment where they stop someone from the oppisite gender from being apart of it. :)

Added. :) Also sent you a friend request individually.

I've been in the hobby for a long time (10+ years) and the majority of events don't allow women dressed as men, sadly - but I think I can probably get away with it for a lot of the tacticals once I drop some of the weight and cut my hair (again). I also do WWII WAC, Russian, Hitler Youth, civilian. :D Lots to choose from.

For living history events, I do a display on the history of military working dogs, which means I can do any impression WWII through modern day, and a variety of countries. People just want to interact with the dog and see her bite stuff, anyway. :D
